Happy Birthday, Furry Chamber of Commerce!

🎉 Today is the Furry Chamber of Commerce’s one year anniversary! 🎉

One year ago today, I made this post on Bluesky announcing the Furry Chamber of Commerce.

We didn’t know what to expect, but the response was more than we could have expected.

We learned a lot in those first few weeks. Many of the assumptions about what was valuable, who would be interested, and what we could achieve changed rapidly as we met and spoke with more Furry Business Owners and learned about their businesses, their challenges, and who they are.

Today, there are 25 Member Organizations including companies and individuals from industries including:

• Fursuit Makers & Furry Artists

• Restauranteurs

• Beverage Industry

• TTRPG Accessories

• IT Services

• Publishing

• And more…

In the past year, we have 

• Worked with authors to produce articles such as

• How Is Findom Taxed and Other Questions You Only Ask Your Furry CPA

• The Economics of Furry Book Publishing

• Tutorial: How to Design a Logo

• How Furry Are You At Work?

• Hosted a series of Office Hours to help Chamber Members with business issues

• Put on a workshop on the Double Diamond Design Process Model

• Provided resources for Q4 Business Planning

• Negotiated member discounts with external partners and Chamber Members

• Created the business directory

• Ran the Furry Black Friday campaign featuring over 25 different Furry Vendors

• Created the Furry Marketplace feed on Bluesky to highlight Furry Vendors

By far though, the most rewarding thing we have done is met and gotten to know people and their businesses. Cultivating relationships between our community members has led to some really amazing opportunities, and it has been so cool to be a small part of those successes.

But, as any business owner will tell you, it never feels like enough. There’s still so much work to do! Here are some things we have coming up soon for Chamber Members:
